Fashion Designer - What Do You Need?

I got a comment on my Working From Home Blog from someone who wanted to become a fashion designer.

Even though they are still in school and have yet to start studying fashion design, they really wanted to get started right away.

I had a couple of suggestions for them.

• start a web presence right away! Start a website or a blog right away - even if it is a free one. The purpose of this is to start a web presence right away! Let people know that you are out there!
  
  
• Do some research online. The Internet is one great, big library and if you do just a little research you will start to find information that can help you get started.
  
  
• If you want to be able to earn money right away then I suggest that you sign up for Google's Adsense program where you earn money online by placing ads on your site. There are also countless other ways that you will be able to make money with your website or blog and I suggest that you see my Working From Home Blog so that you can check out some of the different ways that you can earn money with your website or blog
  

No matter what kind of career you are planning or want to have, you really should have some sort of web presence and the best way to do that is to have a site of your own!

What Is Search Engine Optimization AND Do You Need It If You Have A Website?

What is search engine optimization and is it something that you should have for your website?

Search engine optimization simply means that when people do a search on the search engines for information that is related to the content on your website - you want your website to show up in their search engine results - and the higher your page appears in the search engine results the better!

To give you a simple explanation, say that you have a website where you sell flowers. So when someone does a websearch for "flowers" then you want your site to show up in their search engine results so hopefully they will click on your link and visit your site (and hopefully buy flowers from your site).

Unfortunately it's a little bit more complicated than that. I'm sure that if you do a search for "flowers" you would get millions of linKs. But even so it is still a great example to show to help illustrate about what it means to be able to get a high search engine ranking.

So if you have a website of your own then optimizing your site for the search engines is very important and will benefit you (and your business) very much!
